Say hello to the skin-loving spot solution. Our Non-Drying Spot Treatment reduces redness, inflammation and promotes healing - without flaking or caking under makeup. Using only naturally derived active ingredients and being 100% vegan with recycled packaging - we’d comfortably say it’s the cleanest spot gel on the market right now. So, here’s what you need to know about this vegan skincare stash hero.
We all get spots. And while there’s solidarity in that the odd pimple is no big deal, we generally like to cover them up pre-party or when we want to feel our absolute best. So while we totally support freeing the pimple, we’ve developed our spot gel to go well with or without makeup.
A light liquid texture, it doesn’t dry in clumps or crusts (knowingly gross word). Instead, it forms an invisible veil - think spray-on plaster - over your spot, helping it to heal without drying it out. It also allows you a smooth, colourless canvas on which to apply makeup while forming a barrier between your spot and your brushes - so you aren’t transferring bacteria around your face, either. Plus, with it’s liquid formula you can massage it into breakout-prone larger areas to keep them literally spotless.
Salicylic Acid is known to reduce spots, but super-high concentrations can dry your skin out. As a kind-to-skin alternative, we opted for a component of this acid from Willow Bark. It’s a natural beta-hydroxy acid (BHA to you guys in the know) that can absorb deeper into the skin - thanks to being non water soluble - to get to work on the spot.
This acid helps break up the debris that’s clogging pores, acting as an anti-inflammatory to help redness redness on angry spots, while exfoliating potentially clogging skin cells and reducing excess oil. Plus thanks to our concentration, it does this without leaving you with a dry, crusty crater where a spot once was. With skin care for dry skin in mind, we’ve even added Maritime Pine and Thyme Extract to soothe the skin’s redness, promote healing and lessen the potential for acne scarring.
And this brings us back to bacteria. Not all bacteria is bad, but if the bad overpowers the good bacteria on our skin - that’s how spots start forming. We’ve included prebiotic extract from Chlorella to feed the good bacteria, leading to a balanced skin environment and less spots in the future.
With every pack we make, we get more waste conscious. Probably something to do with our commitment to go Zero Waste with our packaging solutions by 2021. Our Non-Drying Spot treatment comes in a tube made from 50% recycled plastic with a cap that’s 100% recycled plastic. They’re both single-type materials, so they’re designed to be as easily recycled again as possible.
Why not 100% recycled tube, you ask? Recycled plastic is weaker than virgin, so we need to keep some virgin plastic in so the packaging doesn’t break - giving you a product that works in a tube that works, too. That said, we’re working on exciting new packaging solutions to come - stay tuned.
